DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati owners' clubs love a line-up. At a club meeting or an anniversary ride, the bikes stand side by side for the group photo, and a Monster 1200 with a scuffed or bent lever stands out for the wrong reasons. Owners who care about that kind of detail usually want the bike to look exactly as it left the factory. For the Monster 1200 of 2014 and 2015, Accossato lists the AGS200, a black clutch lever in the original form, as a replacement for a damaged or worn standard lever.
Key Features
- Original-type replacement clutch lever for the Ducati Monster 1200
- Listed by Accossato for 2014 and 2015
- Black (silver alternative: AGS199)
- Left handlebar, operates the clutch
- Designed by Accossato for a good price-to-quality ratio
- Accossato says its production process makes the lever more resistant after damage or a fall
- One lever
- For racing and competition; no German ABE or test mark on file
Construction and Material Quality
For a bike that is meant to look standard, a replacement of the original type is the logical choice. The AGS200 keeps the form of the lever Ducati fitted to the Monster 1200, so the left side of the cockpit matches the rest of the bike. Accossato developed its levers for value for money and says that the way they are made gives them increased resistance after damage or collisions. The AGS200 is black; Accossato publishes no further data about it.
Details That Show in a Line-Up
In a row of similar bikes, small differences catch the eye: a mirror that sits at a different angle, a bar end with road rash, a lever bent slightly out of line or scraped at the tip. Before a club event, spend an hour on the details. Wash the Monster 1200, look at it from the front and from both sides, and note anything that no longer looks right. Levers are among the easiest items to renew. Take the old one off, clean the pivot and the bore, apply a little grease and fit the new lever so that it moves freely, then confirm that the clutch switch registers it and that the clutch engages and frees cleanly with the engine running and the bike stationary. If the old lever was bent, do not keep it as a spare after straightening it; a lever that has been bent is weakened at that point, and it belongs in the scrap box.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the AGS200 for the Monster 1200 of 2014 and 2015. The silver AGS199 is listed for 2014 to 2016, so for a 2016 bike the silver lever is the one on the list, and for the earlier years the colour of your original lever decides. The black AGD209 is the corresponding brake lever. At Inter-Pace, the AGS200 is also listed for the Diavel and the Multistrada 1200. Accossato's CNC levers for the Monster 1200, EDF099, ESH011, LV013, LV015 and RA002, are the choice for riders who want a tuning part.
Road Approval
Test or approval documents for the AGS200 are not available to us, so we cannot offer a German ABE or a test mark. We sell it for racing and competition.
