The Versys 1000 SE is the top version of Kawasaki's big Versys, with electronically managed suspension and a long list of touring comforts, and its owners are used to judging a tank of fuel by how far it takes them. On a long tour that distance is generous. On a circuit the same bike drinks far more, and riders who arrive with road habits are regularly caught out. For the Versys 1000 SE of 2019 to 2024, Accossato offers the FC126: a quick-release tank cap cut from solid aluminium on CNC machines, with six colours available for the pin of its pawl.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the FC126 completely from aluminium and calls it robust and durable; the look is a new one from its own drawing board. A quick-closing pawl does the work at the filler, so opening and closing take very little time, which counts when fuel stops come round more often than usual. The pawl's pin is ordered in the colour you prefer, from black or silver to red, blue, green or gold. Should it ever be damaged, the pawl is available by itself, and the rest of the cap on the Versys 1000 SE carries on as before.
Why the Range Shrinks on a Circuit
On the road, a touring rider spends most of the day at part throttle in a high gear, and that is where a big four-cylinder is at its most frugal. A circuit asks for the opposite: the throttle wide open on every straight, high revs through the gears and hard braking into the next bend, lap after lap. Consumption climbs steeply, and a fuel warning that normally appears late in a touring day can light up after only a few sessions. Any range figure you remember from the road is of little help here, because it describes a completely different way of riding. A simpler method works better: fill to a known level in the morning, note how much each top-up takes, and plan the rest of the day from that. Refuel with the engine off and the Versys 1000 SE upright on a stand, pour slowly, and check that the cap is fully closed before you ride back towards the pit lane.

On Accossato's application list the FC126 is given for the Versys 1000 SE from 2019 to 2024. The same cap appears in our catalogue for the Versys 1000 S and for the standard Versys 1000. Road Approval
The FC126 carries no German ABE and no documented parts certificate, so its place is the circuit. On public roads the Versys 1000 SE should wear its original filler cap, which as a rule is locked and opened with the key.
