DescriptionThe whole story▼
The XDiavel is Ducati's take on a cruiser: a long, low bike with a belt drive and footrests placed well forward, built around the Testastretta DVT twin. That riding position changes the way its owners use the brakes, because the rear pedal is harder to work with finesse and the front brake ends up doing even more of the work. Accossato's DKS053 is a floating front disc for the Ducati XDiavel, listed for 2016 to 2023. It measures 320 mm across and 5.5 mm thick and sits on a black carrier.

- Floating front disc for the Ducati XDiavel, 2016 to 2023
- Listed for the XDiavel, XDiavel S, Black Star and Nera versions

- Five fixing holes of 8.5 mm on a 90 mm bolt circle
- Black carrier; friction ring joined to it by rivets
- Minimum working thickness printed on the disc
- One disc per order; the XDiavel has two at the front
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
On the DKS053, the part you see from the side of the bike is the black carrier, which bolts to the wheel through five 8.5 mm holes on a 90 mm circle; around it runs the 320 mm friction ring, attached by rivets. The ring, 5.5 mm thick, can move by a fraction on those rivets, which lets it expand under heat without twisting the carrier. Accossato says the experience behind its discs was gained in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and that it pays close attention to material choice and to the clearance between ring and carrier. The supplier also calls the disc interchangeable with the original equipment.
Feet Forward, Hands Busy
On most bikes the rider's feet sit beneath the body, and a little rear brake is always within easy reach. On the XDiavel, with the footrests set forward, the right foot has to stretch for the pedal, and many riders find it harder to feel what the rear wheel is doing. The natural result is that the front brake gets used for almost everything, including slow, careful stops where a touch of rear brake would help.
It pays to practise with the pedal until it becomes as natural as the lever. In slow traffic and tight turns, light pressure at the rear keeps a long cruiser steady without making the fork dive, and in a hard stop the rear adds useful deceleration while the front does the main work. Using both also spreads the heat between front and rear. For the front discs themselves, the XDiavel's style of riding means long, relaxed stretches followed by firm stops at junctions; check them for grooves and measure them against the printed minimum at each service. Accossato recommends new discs after thirty to forty thousand kilometres, or earlier when wear or cracks call for it.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DKS053 for the XDiavel and XDiavel S from 2016 to 2023, for the Black Star from 2020 to 2022, and for the Nera in 2023. The bike carries two front discs, and each order covers one. For the controls, Accossato also lists the EDF099 brake lever and the ESH011 clutch lever for the XDiavel. Clean the hub mounting faces before fitting and tighten the disc bolts to Ducati's torque.
Road Approval
German road use is not covered, since this disc has no ABE and no type approval on file; we sell it for the track and for competition.
