DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born on the circuits of British Superbike and the Isle of Man TT, the K-Tech TRDS-R Closed Cartridge Kit brings genuine motorsport suspension technology to the Ducati Panigale V4. Through-Rod Damping System with Rebound (TRDS-R) architecture defines this kit: a closed-cartridge design that traces its lineage directly from K-Tech's top-tier race programme, delivering the kind of precise, repeatable damping that separates a well-sorted V4 from one that merely looks the part.
Key Features
- Through-Rod Damping System (TRDS-R) closed-cartridge design derived from front-line motorsport competition
- 36-click independent compression and rebound adjustment for exceptionally fine, trackside tuning
- 18 mm preload adjustment range allowing ride-height and spring-rate optimisation without specialist tools
- Suggested baseline settings of 16 clicks compression and 16 clicks rebound give a proven starting point for a wide range of riders and circuits
- Compact cartridge geometry and enhanced heat dissipation maintain consistent damping characteristics even under sustained race conditions
- Proven at the highest levels of motorsport, including British Superbike Championship and Isle of Man TT
Design, Finish and Heritage
K-Tech's TRDS-R cartridge kit reflects the brand's deep roots in competitive motorcycle racing. The closed-cartridge format is not a marketing claim — it is the same fundamental architecture K-Tech engineers developed for factory-supported superbike teams. The compact dimensions allow fitment within the original Ducati fork legs without compromise, while the internal through-rod layout separates the compression and rebound circuits cleanly, eliminating the cross-talk that limits conventional open-cartridge designs.
Heat management is built into the architecture rather than bolted on as an afterthought. Under the punishing braking zones and long, fast corners that define a British Superbike circuit or the Mountain Course, fork temperature rises significantly. The TRDS-R's closed-cartridge geometry accelerates oil circulation and dispersion, keeping the damping curve stable lap after lap. The result is a fork that feels as composed on lap twenty as it did on the sighting lap.
Track Performance and Adjustment
The 36-click independent adjustment range on both compression and rebound is wider than most production-based cartridge systems, giving a rider and their technician genuine room to dial in a setup. The 130 mm stroke accommodates the V4's aggressive geometry and the large suspension travel demanded by a full-circuit race weekend. With 18 mm of preload adjustment, ride height and corner-entry balance can be tuned to complement tyre selection, circuit characteristics and rider weight without returning to the workshop between sessions.
Installation must be carried out by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre. Specialised tools and techniques are required to ensure the performance and safety of this product are fully realised — fitting by an uncertified workshop risks damage to the cartridge and invalidates any warranty or performance expectation.
