A Single Model Year
This fitment covers the 2017 bike only. Ducati restyled the 821 that year and changed the assembly again afterwards, which makes the registration date the first thing to establish.
Housing and Switch as One
The right-hand controls sit inside the throttle assembly. Both are renewed together here, from a single billet using Ducati's own connector.
A Hundred and Nine Horsepower
From 821 cc, tuned for midrange. It is the Monster most people bought and the one that persuaded a lot of riders that a Ducati could be an everyday motorcycle.
Sealed Elements
Contacts enclosed within the machined body. An 821 is often its owner's only bike, which means winters and road salt rather than dry weekends.
Where the Tube Runs
A machined bore keeps the rotation smooth for years. On a motorcycle used daily rather than occasionally, that is what an owner notices first.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium. An anodised surface survives salt where a coating begins to lift from an edge after two winters.
Ergal 7075
An aerospace grade at roughly twice the yield strength of ordinary machined alloy. On a bike parked on city streets, the drop is a matter of when rather than whether.
The 2017 Restyle
Ducati reshaped the tank and the tail and brought the 821 visually into line with the 1200. Underneath it was the same motorcycle, which was no criticism.
Ducati's Plug
Pre-wired to the original connector so nothing is cut. Two fasteners, one plug, and nothing to configure afterwards.
One Year, One Part Number
Ducati changed the throttle assembly again after 2017, which is why this fitment is so narrow. It is the kind of detail that makes ordering parts for a mid-life model year frustrating, and the only reliable way through it is the registration document rather than the model name.
