The JP SPK 024 swaps the Ninja 400's lock barrel for a machined switch, which is the point at which a motorcycle stops being something you can park in a street.

With a Mectronik Loom
Machines running an aftermarket control unit arrange the ignition side differently, and JetPrime lists a separate switch for them under the SuperSport designation.
Check the Immobiliser First
Where the key carries a transponder, the ring around the barrel is part of the starting circuit. That has to be settled before the barrel comes off.
Fitted With the Yoke in Place
Nothing needs the front end dismantling. The block unbolts from above and the new one goes back in the same holes.
Vibration
A button on a yoke sees more of it than one on a handlebar. The body is machined and the switch is sealed for that reason.
Torque
The fasteners thread into the yoke and the figures are low. Looking them up is quicker than repairing a thread in an aluminium casting.
Before Ordering: the Immobiliser
Modern road bikes read a chip in the key. On those the barrel is not only a lock, and removing it is a wiring question rather than a spanner question.
Refit for a Sale
The standard block back in place makes a motorcycle ordinary again, which is what most buyers want. Twenty minutes plus the key.
Fitting Alongside Other Work
The tank frequently comes off anyway for a race preparation. Doing this in the same session saves an evening of the same disassembly.
No Lanyard Here
Some series require a tethered cut-out. This part does not provide one and it does not prevent one being fitted alongside.
Made the Expensive Way
A body cut from solid Ergal, anodised rather than painted, a switch sealed to a rating written for industrial washdown, and a plate drawn for one motorcycle. None of that is necessary for a button and all of it is why this one lasts.
