Thirty-Five Kilowatts, Properly Done
KTM restricts the L through the engine mapping rather than by fitting a throttle stop, which means it still feels like the motorcycle it is rather than a strangled version of one. The restriction lifts afterwards and the bike is unchanged underneath.
A Bike That Grows With the Rider
The L exists so that someone on an A2 licence gets the full chassis, the full suspension and the full electronics rather than a smaller substitute. Two years later the restriction comes off and they already own what they wanted.
Where an Offset Comes From
Often from a lever assembly changed for reach, which matters more to a rider still developing technique than to an experienced one. That change can alter the clamp bolt spacing away from KTM's factory arrangement.
Establishing It
Offset means one of the two clamp bolts sits ahead of the other. Looking at the bike settles it in a moment, and it is the check that prevents the most common ordering error in this section of the catalogue.
Used Year-Round
Riders on restricted licences frequently use their motorcycle as primary transport, which puts the switchgear through more ordinary weather than a second bike in a garage would ever see. Sealed contacts matter accordingly.
Three Anodised Finishes
Black, titanium and orange, all through the surface. A low-speed drop, which happens to most riders learning a tall adventure bike, dulls the finish rather than stripping it back to bright metal.

Because the L is designed to be derestricted and kept, components are chosen on a five-year horizon rather than a two-year one. That changes the arithmetic on a part built to outlast the original several times over.
