The JP ES 022 removes the side stand interlock from the Monster 1200 R's decision making, which matters on a machine with no stand fitted and nothing to interlock with.

A Higher Riding Position
Ducati raised the pegs and lowered the bars for ground clearance, which suits a circuit and costs comfort on a long road.
Removed for a Circuit
Weight, ground clearance and an organiser who would rather not see one. The stand is among the first components off any bike being prepared.
Two Buyers, One Part

Nothing to Configure
Unplug, plug in, secure. There is no polarity, no setting and no way to fit it the wrong way round on any model.
A Bike Left Outside
Motorcycles parked in the open lose these faster than anything else, because the component is closest to the ground and furthest from shelter.
Torque on the Bracket
The stand bolts carry real load and Ducati specifies a figure. Noting it before the parts go in a box is worth the ten seconds.
Why Not Just Bridge the Plug
A paperclip and some tape produce the same result until they do not. The connector is in the wettest, dirtiest part of the motorcycle, and an intermittent bridge produces an engine that cuts out unpredictably, which is considerably worse than the fault it was hiding.
The Interlock Is Not Only the Stand
Ducati's starting logic combines the side stand, the clutch and the gear position sensor, and the controller decides from all three. Answering the stand input changes one term in that decision and leaves the others exactly as they were, which is why the clutch still has to be pulled in to start the engine.
