The JP ACC DU020 is a model-specific short-stroke throttle for the Monster 821, machined rather than moulded and intended to feel like a cable throttle did.

The Middleweight
Ducati kept the Monster shape and dropped the capacity to something a newer rider could use. It is the machine that introduced a lot of people to a ride-by-wire throttle for the first time.
The Original Refits
Everything comes off the bar the way it went on, and the standard assembly goes back with the same reset procedure. Nothing about the change is permanent.
Which Tool
Whatever reads the engine controller on that model. A dealer does it in minutes; an owner with the right interface does it on the bench.
Cable Feel Without a Cable
The intent stated by the manufacturer is the weight and progression of a cable throttle. Electronics removed that feel and this is an attempt to give it back.
One Colour
Black anodised is what the manufacturer makes. There is no finish to choose and nothing to specify beyond the model.
A Note on Warranty
A dealer will notice a changed throttle assembly. On a motorcycle still inside its term the standard part going back on before an appointment is the simpler path.
An Older Motorcycle
On a machine that has covered distance, the standard assembly has play the owner has stopped noticing. Fitting this often reads as a bigger change than it is.
Who This Suits
A rider who opens and closes the throttle deliberately on a machine ridden hard enough that the hand runs out of rotation first. Track riders, fast road riders and anybody with small hands notice it at once. A commuter in traffic gains nothing at all.
Three Hundred Grams
The assembly weighs close enough to the plastic one that nobody will feel a difference on the bar. This is not a weight-saving part and the catalogue does not pretend otherwise.
