The JP ACC AP009 is the ride-by-wire quick throttle for the RS 457, machined from solid and built to reach wide open in a considerably shorter sweep of the hand.

The Small Parallel Twin
Aprilia's 457 cc twin was drawn to give a licence-restricted rider a genuine sports bike rather than a scaled-down one, and it carries the same electronic throttle architecture as the machines above it.
Where the Wrist Ends Up
At full throttle the standard grip has usually rolled the wrist past comfortable. A shorter sweep leaves it in a position the arm can hold through a corner exit.
Why the Controller Needs Teaching
It stores what a closed throttle looks like as a voltage. Change the assembly and that stored figure belongs to a component no longer fitted.
Corner Exit
Opening from closed to wide on a fast exit is where the shorter sweep pays. The hand does it in one movement instead of two.
After a Battery Disconnect
Some models lose adaptations when the battery comes off, which is a reason to do the electrical work and the throttle change in the same session.
If the Bike Will Not Idle
The commonest symptom of a skipped reset. It is not damage and it is not a faulty part; it is a controller referencing a component that has been removed.
Adaptation, Not Calibration
Nothing inside the part is adjustable. The routine teaches the controller about the part rather than teaching the part about the motorcycle.
What Electronic Control Changed
For most of motorcycling the right grip pulled a cable and the rider felt the spring, the friction and the air through their hand. Electronic control cut that link and turned the grip into an instrument. Better by almost every measure, and it took away the feedback riders had always used.
Bar End Mirrors
Where mirrors thread into the tube rather than clamping to the bar, the new assembly has to accept the same fitting. It is the one accessory genuinely worth confirming before ordering, because it carries a load a plain weight does not.
