The Complete Specification
Semi-active Öhlins, forged wheels, carbon panels, integrated winglets and 217 hp. There is very little left on the options list, which is exactly what makes the standard switchgear stand out from the saddle.
Two Hundred and Seventeen Horsepower
The 1099 cc V4 meets Euro 5 while making more power than the 999 cc engine ever did, and it pulls from six thousand in a way the earlier bike simply would not. The enlargement addressed the model's one persistent criticism.
Adjusted Between Runs
Suspension mode, map, traction and engine braking all live behind this block. A Factory used at circuits sees those changed several times a day, session after session, across a season.
Why the Order Differs
The race layout moves the blue button to the bottom of the column. Under braking the thumb arrives there first, and a control that can be found by geometry needs no attention at all.
Where the Money Stopped
Aprilia specified the suspension, the wheels, the aerodynamics and the electronics to a standard nothing else matches at the price. The bar-mounted plastic came from ordinary production and sits in the rider's eyeline.
Black or Titanium
Both anodised through the surface. Titanium sits between the carbon and the gold without competing with either, which on a motorcycle carrying both is usually the more successful answer.
Sealed Elements
Enclosed inside the machined body. A track machine is washed hot after every outing, and ingress rather than mechanical wear is what actually ends its switchgear.
No Electrical Work
The loom ends in Aprilia's connector. Nothing is cut and nothing is coded, so the change can be undone before a sale without leaving a trace.
