The JP CJP 072C carries no map at all when it arrives on the 1290 Super Adventure T: every cell reads zero and the motorcycle runs exactly as the factory intended until somebody changes that.

The Touring Specification
KTM offered the T with a taller screen and softer settings for riders whose adventure happens mostly on tarmac.
Fully Reversible
Unplug the unit and the motorcycle is standard. Nothing has been written to the original controller at any point, which is the structural advantage this shares with the cheaper module.
The Software Runs on Windows
JetPrime supply it themselves. It is a workshop tool rather than a consumer application, and it looks like one, which is either reassuring or off-putting depending on the owner.
The Time It Takes
An afternoon to produce something usable, a winter to produce something good. Anybody without the patience for the second number should buy the cheaper unit.
Backups Before Every Session
Save, date the filename, then change things. The rule exists because everybody who ignores it loses an evening's work exactly once.
Windows and a Cable
The software is a workshop tool from JetPrime, not a phone application. It looks utilitarian because it is, and everything it does happens through a USB connection.
On a Road Bike
Worth it if the motorcycle is genuinely modified and the owner enjoys the work. Otherwise the preset module reaches most of the benefit for less money and no evenings.
Who Should Buy It
An owner with a modified engine, a wideband sensor and some appetite for methodical work. That is a smaller group than the catalogue suggests and it is the honest answer.
Documentation of the Configuration
Which exhaust, which filter, which fuel and which map file. That record is what makes a map reusable next season and what makes it worthless without.
