The JP CJP 044B is the more capable and more demanding of JetPrime's two fuel units for the S1000R, and it does nothing at all without a wideband and some patience.

The Detuned Four
BMW softened the superbike engine for the roadster by changing cams and mapping rather than capacity. The result is a bike with more midrange and a flatter response.
Saving and Reloading
Maps are files. They can be backed up, sent to somebody else, restored after a mistake and compared side by side, which is the practical advantage of software over a fixed curve.
Altitude and Temperature
The standard controller compensates using its own sensors and this unit applies its map on top. A map developed at sea level still works in the mountains, only less precisely.
Full Load Is Easier
Wide open throttle is one line through the map and a dyno reads it quickly. It is also the region a road rider visits least, which is worth remembering before spending a day on it.
Zero Means Standard
Every cell starts at nought and the motorcycle behaves exactly as the factory intended. There is no default map to undo and nothing to be surprised by on the first ride.
Two Axes Cover Everything
Engine speed and load between them describe every operating point a motor reaches. Correcting on both is why this is called complete management rather than a trim.
Support
JetPrime answer questions about their own software. Between that and the number of owners running these units, very little is genuinely uncharted.
Load Sites and Breakpoints
The map's axes are divided at fixed points chosen for the engine. Knowing where those breakpoints fall tells the mapper which cells a given road speed actually uses.
Against Reflashing
A remap of the original controller reaches ignition, the limiter and the rider aids, and it is written into the motorcycle where a workshop will find it. This is narrower, reversible and belongs to the box rather than the bike.
