A Monitored Solenoid
The purge valve's circuit is checked electrically. Unplugging it alone writes a fault into memory, so the circuit is completed rather than abandoned.

Stop at the click. It is the single most effective thing an owner can do to keep an evaporative system working, and almost nobody is told.
The Bracket Comes Too
Leaving an empty mount behind is untidy and pointless. The whole group is removed together and the frame is left clean.
The Purge Valve's Job
It opens under specific conditions and lets stored vapour into the inlet tract to be burnt. When the bed is saturated it delivers liquid fuel instead, which is precisely why a flooded canister produces a rough idle.
Storage With a Full Tank
Laying a motorcycle up over winter with the tank brimmed works the evaporative system for months with no engine running to clear it. It is a slow way to saturate a canister.
What Improvised Removals Get Wrong
A hose cut short and cable-tied to the frame is the usual approach. It vents the tank until the motorcycle lies on its side, at which point it demonstrates exactly why a proper fitting exists.
Vapour Is Not Waste
The system exists to burn what would otherwise escape, which is a genuinely sensible idea. The objection is to the hardware rather than to the principle.
