DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato PRS 15x15-16-17 sits between the lightest- and firmest-pulling pistons in the adjustable PRS clutch range, giving a 15 mm bore that balances lever effort against a clear, positive engagement point. As with the rest of the PRS clutch series, the pivot distance can be set to 15, 16 or 17 mm at the lever itself, so the feel can be tuned for a naked, adventure or sport-touring bike without fitting a different master cylinder. CNC machined and assembled entirely in Italy, it comes with a long folding lever and relieving eyelet as standard.
Key Features
- 15 mm piston diameter, a mid-range size balancing lever effort and clutch feel
- Adjustable lever pivot distance: 15, 16 or 17 mm to suit the situation of use
- Folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST)
- CNC-machined aluminium body with natural anodising
- Offset riser that reduces pump flex during gear changes
- Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent compared with a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals made from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
In common with the other PRS clutch pumps, this unit is CNC machined from solid aluminium billet and sent through the same Italian natural anodising line. Its fasteners are stainless steel, the bleed nipple is galvanised steel, and Formula 1 compound does the sealing job, standing up to the heat cycling and ongoing fluid exposure that regular clutch use involves. A built-in offset at the mounting point keeps the body from twisting when the lever is worked hard, while the internal bore is shaped so that pulling the lever translates into clutch disengagement with as little lost motion as possible.
Where the 15 mm Piston Sits in the PRS Clutch Line-up
Piston diameter is the setting that governs how much fluid moves for a given amount of lever travel, and with it, how light or firm the clutch pull feels at the bar. At 15 mm, this piston sits one size up from the lightest-pulling 14 mm version in the PRS clutch range and one size below the 17 mm unit, giving a pull that most riders describe as noticeably lighter than a stock clutch master cylinder while still keeping a well-defined bite point rather than an overly soft one. Combined with the three-position pivot, adjustable between 15, 16 and 17 mm without removing the lever, this piston size suits riders moving between stop-and-go traffic and faster riding on the same bike, where neither extreme of lever weight is ideal all the time.
Fitment and Compatibility
This part carries no vehicle-specific listing in our fitment records and shows no matched motorcycles; Accossato positions it as a universal 15 mm radial clutch master cylinder built for a 22 mm handlebar clamp rather than a named model. Riders fitting it should first measure their own clamp diameter, confirm the clutch system on the bike accepts a 15 mm master cylinder, and check that this bore size suits the clutch hardware already installed.
Road Approval
This clutch master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato PRS 15x15-16-17 radial clutch master cylinder fitted with a long folding lever and relieving eyelet (RST), finished in natural anodised aluminium. Stainless steel mounting screws, the galvanised steel bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The brake light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
