DescriptionThe whole story▼
When the Panigale V2 replaced the 959 in 2020, it kept the Superquadro twin and adopted the look of the V4. It is a road superbike, and for many owners the first day on a circuit is a milestone. Much of the preparation concerns tyres, pressures and fluids, yet the controls deserve a look too, because a lever that works at road pace has to work at circuit pace as well. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined brake lever for the 2020 to 2024 Panigale V2, mounted on the original master cylinder, with adjustable reach and three blade lengths.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Panigale V2, model years 2020 to 2024
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Adjustable distance between blade and grip
- Three lengths: short, standard at about 138 mm, and long
- Machined aluminium, anodised in two tones
- Black hub; blade in any of seven colours
- Rigid construction without a folding joint
- Sold for track use: no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
On the EDF099 the reach adjuster lives in the black hub, next to the pivot, and turning it moves the resting position of the blade closer to the grip or further away. The rest of the lever is CNC-machined from a solid piece of aluminium and anodised, with the colour applied to the blade only. Because it is a fixed design, there is no hinge along the blade, and the lever on your Panigale V2 behaves identically whether it is the first braking zone of the morning or the last one of the afternoon.
Before the First Track Day
On a circuit the braking points come every few seconds, and each asks for more pressure than a ride on the road. Set the reach in your track gloves, sitting on the bike in the riding position, so that the blade meets the first joints of your fingers. Many riders try two-finger braking on track; the short blade, made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, leaves the remaining fingers on the throttle. If you are used to four fingers, stay with the standard or long blade for the first day instead of changing technique and surroundings at once. Once the lever is fitted, confirm that the brake light works and that the lever returns fully before you ride out. After the first session on the V2, ask yourself whether the setting still feels right now that you are braking harder than you ever did on the road, and adjust it in the pit lane if it does not.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the Panigale V2 955 on its list, and on this page the lever is assigned to the model years 2020 to 2024. It replaces the stock lever on the original master cylinder. On the clutch side, Accossato's ESH011 is listed for the 2020 Panigale V2 only, so owners of later bikes will find the brake lever here without a matching partner.
Road Approval
For this brake lever there is no documented German ABE; it is sold for the circuit.
Scope of Delivery
You receive one brake lever in the chosen finish, in Accossato's own box.
