One that spends whole days on unsealed ground, in dust raised by its own wheels and by whatever is ahead, is in the conditions this element was drawn for. Neither answer flatters the bike: no replacement element makes a standard 250 Adventure quicker, since the output of a 249 cc single homologated inside the A2 category is fixed well before the airbox. Where the load goes beyond what air will shift, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until clear. Then leave it in open air until every part is dry — never over a heat source, never beside a flame — and only then put it back.
