Few 125s spend as much of their lives being ridden by someone who does not own them as the KTM 125 Duke. Training schools, rental counters and A1 hire fleets buy them several at a time, and those machines are serviced against a calendar because nobody ever reports a symptom. This element suits that pattern: it is checked, blown through and refitted, so an operator keeps no filter stock whatsoever. PM293S is the code for the 2024-on bike.
Key Features
- Dry polyester weave that is never oiled — nothing to re-treat between hires, nothing to reach a sensor
- Filtration at 80 microns with a flow figure of 5,050 litres per square metre per second
- Roughly double the filtering surface of other performance filters
- Serviced with compressed air in minutes, with no consumables to reorder
- Enters the standard airbox exactly as supplied: no modification, no remapping
- Backed for two years from the purchase date
A machine serviced against a calendar
Where a bike has one rider, the air filter gets looked at when something feels different. On a school machine no such signal exists. Fuelling compensates for a loading element long before anyone would notice, and in any case the rider changes every hour. Inspection therefore has to be scheduled, and it has to be cheap enough to survive a full week of bookings. Opening the housing, blowing the element clear and closing it again costs time and nothing else, which is a very different proposition from ordering one panel per machine per interval.
Honest about what it delivers
A drop-in element is not a power part. On an A1 machine the ceiling is legal rather than mechanical, so there is nothing in the intake for a filter to release. The benefit is narrower and more useful in fleet service: intake restriction that begins low and stays near that value until the next inspection, instead of rising as a paper panel loads up. Over a fleet, that means every bike behaves the same at the end of an interval as it did at the start of one.
Care and cleaning
Work compressed air through the element from the clean side outward. If more is wanted, warm water and mild detergent will do it, rinsed until the water leaving the weave is clean. Dry in air alone, never against a heat source and never over a flame, and refit dry with no oiling of any kind. Sprint Filter's cleaning instructions are held in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
For the KTM 125 Duke built from 2024 to 2026. Seven entries in the current KTM and Husqvarna single-cylinder range share this element, and they are named in the Fitment tab. KTM sold a 125 Duke before 2024 as well; that machine takes a different Sprint Filter code, so it is worth confirming the year of build before ordering.
