Ordering by number from the exploded view is the reliable way to get the right piece. Replacement parts come from the same production as the components they go into. Öhlins keeps tooling for older units, which is why parts remain available.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.

Identifying the Right Part

02228-38 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Öhlins publishes an exploded view for every unit, and each position in it has its own number. Availability of individual parts is one reason Öhlins units stay in service for decades.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 02228-38

Category: Service Parts

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/02228-38_da340a53-4e89-457d-8570-c1c6d749c86c.png?v=1788871581
