DescriptionThe whole story▼

The SP version of the Fireblade adds semi-active Öhlins suspension, Brembo Stylema calipers and a quickshifter, and it is the variant most often seen on the track. For the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP from 2020 on, this MUE2 rearset matches the quality of those components with levers on double ball bearings and a peg position chosen by the rider.

Key Features

  • Standard or reversed (race) shift pattern
  • Peg height and reach set at a single clamping point
  • Brake and shift levers on double ball bearings, free of play
  • Folding footpegs, as the road approval requires
  • Brake and shift pedal length adjustable to your boot
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91506

Trail braking with the rear

Fast riders use a touch of rear brake to settle the bike on corner entry. That only works when the pedal responds finely, without play and without a hard start. The ball-bearing MUE2 pedal lets you apply exactly that small amount of pressure, and its length can be adjusted to the size of your boot.

Quickshifter and race pattern

Both the normal and the reversed shift pattern are possible. Many SP owners switch to the race pattern for track days: upshifts are then pushed downwards, which is easier with the bike leaned far over to the left than hooking the toe under the lever.

Road Approval

ABE No. KBA 91506 lists the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP. With the rearset installed to the instructions, no inspection and no paperwork change are needed; the ABE only asks that the pegs stay on folding adapters and that the headlight aim is checked after fitting. Keep the printed certificate with you when riding.

Scope of Delivery

The delivery covers the complete left and right assembly, including folding pegs, the ball-bearing brake and shift levers, the shift linkage and heel guards on both sides. Fitting instructions come with it, as does the ABE document.
