DescriptionThe whole story▼

The XSR900 GP brought back the look of the eighties Grand Prix bikes, with a half fairing and clip-on bars on a modern triple. The GP-Light 2 clip-on handlebars for the Yamaha XSR900 GP of 2024 and 2025 replace the standard clip-ons with light 50 mm Gilles clip-ons.

Key Features

  • Engraved marks for aligning the bars on the fork
  • Tube clamped separately in the clamp, to limit crash damage
  • Quick tube change thanks to the external screw connection
  • 6-degree drop, 255.5 mm total tube length
  • Replacement tube available as spare part LR-09
  • KBA part type approval 101316 or TÜV parts certificate 34TG0277

Retro racer, real racing parts

A bike styled after Grand Prix racers suits parts with a racing background. The GP-Light 2 is the clip-on Gilles supplies to Superbike and Supersport teams, in black anodised aluminium.

Approved on the RN96

Both approvals list the XSR900 GP under its type RN96, and the TÜV certificate is included in the box. Turn the bars from lock to lock after fitting: the half fairing leaves limited room, and the documents require free movement.

Road Approval

Two approval routes exist for the Yamaha XSR900 GP, and the marking on the clamps decides which one applies. Clamps marked KBA 101316 fall under the KBA part type approval: no inspection, but the approval must be carried and its conditions met. Clamps without that mark are covered by TÜV parts certificate 34TG0277, which requires an acceptance inspection straight after fitting and a later correction of the vehicle documents. Both documents list this model. Both documents set the same conditions for the fitting: enough length and kink-free routing for cables and brake lines, master cylinder and reservoir in their working position, brake hoses with at least 80 mm bend radius and no twisting, free steering movement including lock and steering stop, and a check of the front brake.

Scope of Delivery

A left and a right clip-on with their tubes, the fitting instructions and the TÜV parts certificate, as Gilles states. Grips, bar-end weights and controls are reused from the motorcycle.
