DescriptionThe whole story▼
Both gains at 3,500 rpm — 1.0 PS and 2.4 Nm. That is barely above idle on a 799 cc parallel twin, and it is where an adventure bike works on a climb, in gravel, or pulling away fully loaded.
Key Features
- 2.7 kg against the standard 5.13 kg: 2.4 kg and 47.4 per cent less
- 2.4 Nm and 1.0 PS more, both at 3,500 rpm
- Titanium for the outer sleeve, the end cap and the muffler bracket
- Stainless steel link pipe and inner structure
- Carbon fibre heat shield on the link pipe, protecting rider and gear
- A specially designed surface profile adding strength, as used on rally-raid machines
- Twenty minutes to fit, EC and ECE type approved
The Surface Profile Comes From Rally Raid
Akrapovic states that the profile pressed into the muffler surface adds strength and durability, and names rally-raid motorcycles as where the idea comes from. On a bike built to leave the tarmac that is the practical part: a profiled wall takes a low-speed fall or a thrown stone better than a smooth one of the same thickness.
It also gives the silencer a look that matches the MT-X's own bodywork, which is the second reason it is there.
MT-X, Not MT
CFMOTO sells two 800 cc adventure bikes that look closely related. The 800MT is the road-biased machine; the 800MT-X arrived in 2025 with a longer-travel chassis, more off-road intent and a revised exhaust route. This part is for the MT-X.
For the 800MT the corresponding part is S-CF8SO4-HFTT, and the two are not interchangeable. The names differ by one letter — check the registration document rather than the tank graphic.
Titanium Even on the Bracket
The outer sleeve, the end cap and the mounting bracket are all titanium; only the link pipe and the inner structure stay stainless steel, where heat cycling and vibration are worst. That split is what takes nearly half the weight out without giving up durability on a bike that will be ridden hard on bad surfaces.
What Stays Standard
The header, the catalytic converter and the engine management are untouched, no remapping is required, and the original silencer bolts back on. On a motorcycle this new that is worth having: an 800MT-X sold on within its first years is worth more with the standard parts in the box.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-CF8SO3-HFTT covers the CFMOTO 800MT-X for model years 2025 and 2026. Installation is quoted at around 20 minutes.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
