DescriptionThe whole story▼

Clip-on bars and a sporty crouch do not stop owners of the 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR from riding in less than ideal weather. A sudden shower on the way home or a damp morning in the hills is part of riding in Europe, and the rear brake should behave the same whatever the conditions. Accossato's AGPA42 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound is listed for the 2022 Speed Triple 1200 RR and aims to give a constant pedal in rain, cold and heat.

Key Features

  • Sintered (ST) rear pads, Accossato AGPA42ST
  • For the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR, 2022
  • Suited to showers, damp mornings and changing temperatures
  • Accossato promises high, stable grip at all temperatures and in the wet
  • Two pads for the single rear caliper
  • Also available in OR and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

The ST compound in the AGPA42 range uses sintered material. Accossato says it keeps a high, even grip level at low and high temperatures and performs well on wet discs. For a rider caught out by a shower on a café racer, that is reassuring: the pedal responds as expected, even when the disc is soaked. Accossato also builds its pads for long life and resistance to fade.

Caught in a Shower

With clip-ons, the rider of a Speed Triple 1200 RR carries more weight on the front, and heavy front braking in the rain feels less comfortable than on an upright bike. Using more rear brake on wet roads helps to share the load, and a sintered pad that bites promptly on a wet disc makes that easier. Brake smoothly and early, stay off painted lines and manhole covers, and let the bike slow in a straight line where possible. Once home, dry the bike, rinse the calipers and check that nothing has collected between pad and disc.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPA42 for the rear of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR, model year 2022. The bike has one rear caliper, so one box renews it. We have no further Accossato pads or discs for this model in our data. The AGPA42 is also sold in Organic and ZXC.

Road Approval

No German ABE or road certificate is available for this sintered pad. We supply it for circuit and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two AGPA42 rear pads in Sintered (ST) compound, the set for the rear caliper.
