DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every traveller on a V85 TT knows the moment: the gravel track you followed ends at a closed gate, the way is narrow, and the bike is carrying panniers and a full tank. Turning a loaded touring motorcycle on a slope of loose stones is not about power but about control at walking pace, and most of that control lives in the left hand. Accossato's ESC037 is a clutch lever for the Moto Guzzi V85 TT of 2018 and 2019, machined from aluminium, adjustable for reach and offered in three blade lengths.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the V85 TT, model years 2018 and 2019
- Fits at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance from the grip
- Short, standard (approximately 138 mm) or long blade
- Seven colours for the blade, hub always black
- CNC-machined and anodised aluminium
- One rigid piece without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato knows loose ground from the inside: the company won an enduro world title in 1985. The ESC037 is cut from aluminium by CNC machines and anodised afterwards. Its hub is black and houses the pivot and the reach adjustment; its blade can be black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. Anodising turns the colour into part of a hard surface layer, so dust and gloves do not wear it away the way they wear paint. Between hub and tip there is no joint, which means the friction point you learn stays exactly where you left it.
A Dead End on Loose Stones
A slow U-turn on loose ground goes most smoothly with the engine just above idle, a light touch on the rear brake and the clutch held at the edge of engagement, so that the drive comes and goes in small, controllable doses. Look where you want to go, not at the ditch. Turn the bars towards full lock and let the clutch feed the bike round a little at a time. Snatching the lever at the wrong moment stalls the engine or makes the bike lurch, and with luggage on board that can end with the V85 TT on its side. The ESC037 helps by placing the lever where your fingers can hold it for a long time without tiring: bring the blade closer until you can keep it at the friction point with a relaxed hand. If your bike wears hand guards, check after adjusting that the lever tip clears the guard through its whole travel; the short blade leaves the most room. The long blade gives the lightest pull for riders who like to use four fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESC037 for the V85 TT in 2018 and 2019, under the name V85 850. It replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting. On the right side, the EDB080 brake lever carries the same two years, and neither lever is listed for later V85 TT model years.
Road Approval
We sell this clutch lever for track use; no German ABE is documented for it.
