DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the way up an Alpine pass, the clutch of a loaded XL750 Transalp works harder than in a month of riding at home. Tight hairpins are taken slowly in first gear with the clutch partly engaged, and every stop behind a camper van on a steep ramp ends in a hill start with panniers on the back. The Accossato ESY688H is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the Transalp, listed from 2023 to 2025, and its reach adjuster places the friction point where your fingers can hold it without strain, one climb after another.

- Black hub, blade anodised in one of seven colours
- CNC-machined aluminium

Construction and Material Quality
Off-road competition is part of Accossato's story: the company won an enduro world title in 1985. The ESY688H is shaped from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised afterwards, so its colour is part of the metal's surface rather than a coat of paint that could chip on a stony track or a crowded ferry deck. Only the blade is coloured. The hub, where the pivot bore and the reach adjuster sit close together, is black. From the hub to the tip the blade is a single fixed piece, and without a folding joint the take-up feels the same on the last hairpin of the day as on the first.
Hairpins, Ramps and Hill Starts
A steep hairpin asks for three things at once: low speed, a steady line and drive that never snatches. On the Transalp that means first gear, a little throttle and the clutch feathered in its friction zone while the bike leans round the bend. Stopping on the ramp that follows is the next test. The usual technique is to hold the bike on the rear brake, bring the clutch to the point where it starts to bite, add throttle and only then let go of the pedal. Each step happens at the left lever, and a day of passes on a Transalp repeats them dozens of times. If the reach is set so that the fingers close around the blade with a relaxed hand, the friction point is easier to find and to hold. For long climbs with luggage, the long ESY688H makes each pull lighter; the short one suits riders who like to feather the clutch with two fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESY688H is listed by Accossato for the XL750 Transalp from 2023 to 2025 and replaces the original clutch lever at Honda's mounting. On the right side, the EDF018 brake lever covers the same model years and is available in the same colours, so the two can be ordered together.
Road Approval
No ABE for German roads is on record for this clutch lever, and it is sold for the racetrack.
