DescriptionThe whole story▼
When race results depend on what your fork does at corner entry, the Öhlins FKR Cartridge Kit Racing TTX 25 FKR 108 is the answer. Purpose-engineered for the Ducati Panigale 1299 S (2015-2018) equipped with the Öhlins FG 925 fork, this cartridge kit replaces the stock internals with a closed, spring-pressurised FKR system that delivers linear damping characteristics tuned exclusively for track use.
Key Features
- Closed FKR system pressurised by spring rather than gas — eliminates pressure loss from seal leakage, ensuring consistent damping performance across every session and throughout the entire race day.
- TTX technology paired with a newly developed piston and an 8 mm piston rod reduces internal pressure, producing faster, more precise damping response compared to conventional gas-pressure systems.
- Linear damping curve matched to track demands delivers measurably improved traction and front-end stability under hard braking and through high-speed corners.
- Easier to service than standard gas-charged cartridges — the spring-pressurised closed circuit is inherently more maintenance-friendly and more reliable over extended use.
- Expanded tuning range: the TTX architecture opens up more adjustment possibilities, letting engineers dial in compression and rebound to suit tyre compound, circuit, and rider preference.
- 120 mm stroke engineered to the Panigale 1299 S suspension travel, maximising the usable damping window on track.
TTX Technology Explained
Öhlins TTX (Twin Tube X) technology works by keeping the damping piston and the compression valve in a twin-tube layout that separates oil flow paths. In the FKR context this means the 8 mm piston rod generates lower rod-displacement volume changes, reducing cavitation risk and allowing the system to operate at lower internal pressures. The result is a cartridge that responds to even subtle chassis inputs — small bumps mid-corner, minor kerb strikes — rather than only reacting to large suspension events.
FKR System Reliability on the Racetrack
Traditional gas-pressurised fork cartridges rely on a pressurised gas chamber to separate oil from air and to keep the damping circuit primed. Any seal degradation bleeds pressure, compromising damping consistency. The FKR system uses a mechanical spring to pressurise the closed oil circuit instead. There is no gas charge to lose, which means the cartridge performs identically at the start of a qualifying lap as it does at the end of a 20-lap race distance. For riders competing in timed sessions where setup repeatability is critical, this characteristic is a genuine advantage.
Fitment & Compatibility
- Ducati Panigale 1299 S (2015-2018) — for models fitted with the Öhlins FG 925 front fork only.
- Racing use only — this is a motorsport product and is not homologated for use on public roads.
- Installation requires specialist tools and technical knowledge. Öhlins recommends fitting by an authorised Öhlins service workshop.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its suspension is fitted by an authorised service centre. We are one, and we do the work here: installation, servicing and a proper setup. Ask us and we will include it with the order.
