A soft reservoir usually means the bladder has failed rather than the gas has leaked.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 02212-05

What It Is

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Öhlins pressure-tests its hoses because a reservoir line carries the full gas charge. Reservoir caps carry the gas valve and are torqued to a specification. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.

Getting the Number Right

02212-05 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Fittings are specific to the hose and the housing they connect. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 02212-05

Category: Reservoirs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/02212-05_9cd03a41-a207-4480-ac27-465a791649c3.png?v=1788874071
