DescriptionThe whole story▼
Adjuster shaft 97.5/4.3, Öhlins part number 00566-18. An adjuster that turns without resistance has lost its detent; the setting is then guesswork.
Key Features
- Original Öhlins service part
- Dimension A 97.5 mm
- Öhlins part number 00566-18
- Dimension B 4.3 mm
Function
00566-18 is the 97.5 mm, 4.3 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to. A bent adjuster shaft binds and the clicks become uneven. An adjuster that turns without resistance has lost its detent; the setting is then guesswork.
Genuine Service Part
An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.
Getting the Number Right
Part number 00566-18 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. dimension a 97.5 mm, dimension b 4.3 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Compression and rebound adjusters are not interchangeable even when they look similar. A bent adjuster shaft binds and the clicks become uneven.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
