A Track Bike With a Number Plate
Almost every Daytona Moto2 that is ridden regularly is ridden on a circuit, which is what it was built for. Those machines get their brake packages revisited, and a remote-adjust master cylinder with stepped clamp bolts is among the more common changes.
Why the Geometry Matters Here
On a bike with lever guards, a lap timer and often a steering damper, the area around the master cylinder is contested. The dedicated offset drilling sits closer to the cylinder than the universal plate and frees a useful amount of bar.
Seven Hundred and Sixty-Five
Triumph built one machine for each cubic centimetre to mark becoming Moto2's engine supplier. Ohlins NIX30 forks, Stylema calipers, a carbon front mudguard and a state of tune closer to the racing unit than any Daytona before it.
Modifications That Can Be Undone
On a limited-run motorcycle every change is weighed against resale. A switch that bolts on and uses the standard connector leaves nothing behind when the original is refitted, which is why bolt-on solutions dominate on bikes like this.
One Year Only
2020, no second series, no successor under that name until the unrelated 660 four years later. The fitment question is unusually simple, which cannot be said of most of this catalogue.
Sealed Construction
Elements sealed inside a one-piece milled body. Track use means hot washing and damp storage between meetings, and ingress rather than button wear is what ends switchgear in that setting.
Machined Edges
What separates a milled control from a moulded one in use is the step around each button. On a bike ridden at circuit pace in full gloves, that step is what the thumb reads, because nobody is looking at the handlebar.
Three Finishes
Black, titanium and copper. Against the Moto2 edition's silver and red, black keeps the cockpit quiet while titanium picks up the fork legs without competing with them.
