DescriptionThe whole story▼

On the Hypermotard 950 SP the JP ACCGP DU020 pairs the GP Series' progressive return spring and three-stage external preload with the 60-degree rotation already familiar from the standard kit, matching a chassis that already leans toward the sharper, track-day end of the Hypermotard range.

Key Features

  • Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP (2019–2025)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

Built for the Sharper End

The SP sits above the base Hypermotard with firmer, more adjustable suspension aimed at riders who take the bike onto a circuit occasionally rather than only onto the daily commute. Pairing that chassis with a throttle tuned the same way, rather than leaving the stock long-stroke unit in place, keeps the front and the right hand working toward the same intent.

Elbows Up, Weight Forward

Track-day sessions on the SP tend to push riders into a more forward, elbows-up stance than ordinary road riding does, with the wrist held at an angle for longer stretches between corners. A shorter throttle stroke suits that posture because it asks less rotation from a wrist that is already working at an unusual angle for extended periods.

A Session, Not a Commute

Fitting the GP Series to a bike mainly booked for track days rather than daily transport changes what matters about the preload setting: consistency lap after lap counts for more than a gentle take-up in stop-start traffic. Three external stages give a way to settle on the firmer end and leave it there for the day.

The Spring Doing the Work

Where the standard throttle relies mostly on the geometry of a longer cable pull to shape its return, the GP Series adds a progressive spring that stiffens through the stroke rather than staying constant. On a bike already set up for quick direction changes, that extra resistance near full opening helps the throttle snap back cleanly between inputs.

Track Day Reversibility

Riders who alternate the SP between road use and the odd circuit outing sometimes want the option to go back to the original throttle for warranty or resale reasons later on. The GP Series installs without permanently altering the stock cable run or switchgear, so the original grip can be refitted in the same afternoon it came off.

Reading the Rear Tyre

On a circuit, how a tyre is loading up through a corner exit is read partly through the throttle hand, and a shorter stroke makes small corrections easier to apply without overshooting. For an SP already built around giving its rider that kind of feedback through the chassis, matching it at the throttle closes the loop.
