DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 002 is what an owner needs to take the canister off the Multistrada V2 properly rather than leaving hoses capped and a warning on the instrument panel.

Renamed From the 950
Ducati changed the badge in 2022 without changing much underneath, which confuses used listings and parts searches to this day.
Space Rather Than Weight
The real gain is access. Shock adjusters, linkage bolts and exhaust hangers all become reachable once the assembly has gone.
An Empty Bracket Is Untidy
Leaving the mount behind collects road grime and serves no purpose. The whole group comes off together and the frame is left looking finished.
A Fuel Smell
Frequently a split vapour line rather than anything in the fuel delivery system, and almost always investigated in entirely the wrong order.
Not Every Symptom Is the Canister
Hard starting has several causes and a tired battery is more common than a saturated bed. Establishing which is which before ordering saves money.
Not a Restricted Job
Nothing here requires specialist tooling, diagnostic access or manufacturer software. It is one of the more approachable jobs on a modern Ducati.
Not a Track-Only Part
Plenty of these are fitted to road bikes in markets where the system was never mandated, simply to recover the space behind the engine.
Why Owners Remove It
It is a plastic drum with several hoses and a purge valve, tucked into whatever space Ducati could find, and on most models that space is exactly where an exhaust, a shock reservoir or a set of luggage brackets wants to go. Removing it frees a genuinely useful volume and takes a surprising amount of hose out of the motorcycle.
Fuel Level and the Vent
A tank that cannot breathe pulls a vacuum as it empties, and the symptom is an engine that starves after forty minutes and runs perfectly the moment the filler cap is cracked open. Owners chasing that fault rarely suspect the vent, which is why the fitting supplied with the kit matters more than it looks.
