DescriptionThe whole story▼

Ceramic pads have their own following among racers, and Accossato offers one for the front of the MV Agusta Brutale 1090 RR (2010 to 2017) and the Corsa (2014 to 2016). This ZXC ceramic racing set is meant for a circuit bike, prepared by a rider or team who plan brake setup over a whole weekend rather than a single ride.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing compound for the Brutale 1090 RR and Corsa front
  • RR 2010 to 2017, Corsa 2014 to 2016
  • Described by Accossato as a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • For circuit bikes set up session by session
  • An alternative competition choice to EV2
  • Two pads in each box for one caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound ideal for racing. That is the maker's full statement, and it places the mixture firmly in competition use. Like every pad from the company, it is designed around low wear, limited heat build-up to hold off fade and a high level of stopping power, but its natural home is a race weekend with a pit box, a toolbox and a plan.

Tuning the Brakes Across a Weekend

A race team approaches brakes differently from a road rider. Friday is for learning how the pad beds in on your Brutale 1090 RR and how the lever feels as temperatures rise; Saturday for fine adjustments to lever position and fluid; Sunday for the race. The ceramic ZXC set suits that way of working. Some riders move to it after using EV2, others alternate depending on the circuit. For road use, look at ST or EV1 instead.

Pit Lane Routine

Mount new pads in both front calipers together and bed them in during the opening laps. Inspect the discs and pad thickness after each session, keep the fluid fresh, clean the pistons before retracting them, and never let cleaner or grease reach the friction faces.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPA106 is listed for the front of the MV Agusta Brutale 1090 RR (2010 to 2017) and Brutale 1090 Corsa (2014 to 2016). The R model from 2012 to 2015 uses AGPA96 at the front. The rear of the Brutale 1090 takes AGPA118, and Accossato also lists disc DKS020. With two front calipers, a full change needs two boxes.

Road Approval

Neither a test certificate nor a German road approval is available for this pad. We therefore list it for motorsport and competition only.

Scope of Delivery

Two pads in one box, one caliper's worth. No mounting hardware inside.
