DescriptionThe whole story▼
A freshly fitted pair of axle blocks on the FE 501 needs its position checked again once the first few rides have let a new chain settle and stretch slightly, rather than being left exactly as it was torqued on day one. Accossato's RCM1, listed for the FE 501 built between 2014 and 2018, carries a built-in adjusting screw at each end of the swingarm that makes that early recheck straightforward.
Key Features
- Rear axle blocks for the Husqvarna FE 501, 2014 to 2018
- Accossato code RCM1, fitted at each end of the swingarm
- Built-in adjusting screw for setting chain tension
- Available in orange, black or silver
- Same part also listed for the Husqvarna FE 450, the Husqvarna TC 125 and the Husqvarna TE 125
- Accossato also offers a chain guide, a swingarm slider and the screw-free version of this block for this bike
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the RCM1 to the FE 501's own axle diameter and swingarm slot, with the adjusting screw built directly into the block. The choice of orange, black or silver changes nothing about how the block sets the wheel's position, only how it looks against the rest of the bike. A block whose screw binds or whose face is visibly dented from an impact should be examined before it is relied on again.
Bedding In a Fresh Pair of Blocks
A brand new chain stretches a small but real amount over its first few rides as the links settle against each other, which quietly loosens the tension that was carefully set when the axle blocks first went on. Owners who have just fitted a new chain, new blocks, or both tend to check tension again after that first ride rather than assuming the initial setting holds, since this early settling period is when most of the movement happens. The adjusting screw on the RCM1 makes that early recheck a matter of a few turns on each side rather than a full reset, and doing it evenly keeps the wheel from drifting off-centre while everything else is still settling in. After that first recheck, tension tends to hold far more predictably through the rest of the chain's life.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives 2014 to 2018 for the FE 501 against the RCM1. The same pair is also listed for the FE 450, the TC 125 and the TE 125, all built on this shared swingarm. Owners who would rather set tension against marks on the swingarm instead of a screw can fit the RTM1, which bolts into the identical position on this bike. Checking the exact build year against Accossato's list is worth doing regardless of which version is chosen.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for the RCM1, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
