DescriptionThe whole story▼
Stradale is Italian for 'of the road', and MV Agusta chose the name for a three-cylinder sport tourer meant to cover long distances with a passenger and luggage. Its career was short, and Accossato lists it for 2015. A cap made for the circuit may seem an odd match for a bike with that name, yet some Stradale 800 owners like to spend a day on a track now and then, often with the person who usually rides on the back seat coming along to help. For the Stradale 800 of 2015, Accossato lists the FC101, a quick-release tank cap in CNC-machined aluminium.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta Stradale 800, model year 2015
- CNC-machined aluminium, no other material in the body
- Quick-closing pawl
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately if damaged
- New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for track days
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium cut on CNC machines makes up the whole FC101, and Accossato calls it robust and durable, the design new. Its quick-closing pawl opens the Stradale 800's tank quickly and shuts it again without delay. The pin sitting on the pawl comes in the colour you order. If the pawl is damaged, Accossato sells it as a spare.
From Pillion to Pit Crew
Passengers do not ride on a normal track day, so the partner who usually sits behind you on the Stradale 800 has a new job: helper in the paddock. It works well if the roles are clear before the first session. One person steadies the bike upright on its stand while the other pours; the engine is off and has had time to cool; nobody smokes anywhere nearby. Show your helper how the FC101 opens and closes, and let them try it once in the morning while there is no hurry, so the pawl holds no surprises later. Agree on a signal for stop, because the fuel level near the rim is easier to see from one side than from the other. Afterwards the helper can wipe the tank while you check that the cap is fully closed. At the end of the day the same team puts the original cap back on, once the engine has cooled, and the Stradale is ready to live up to its name on the ride home.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the Stradale 800 for 2015 only, with the FC101, and this product covers that model year. With us the same cap is also listed for the Brutale 800, the F3 675 and the Aprilia Shiver 900. If your Stradale 800 has a different model year, please ask us before ordering.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no parts certificate on record for the FC101; its use is limited to closed circuits. The Stradale 800 keeps its factory cap, normally opened with the ignition key, for public roads.
