DescriptionThe whole story▼

MV Agusta built the Rush 1000 in a limited run on the basis of the Brutale 1000, keeping that bike's four-cylinder engine. Slowing a machine like this from speed is a sequence rather than a single action: pressure builds at the lever, the gears go down one after another, and the right hand has to hold its pressure steady all the way to the turn-in point. The Accossato EDF011 is a CNC-machined aluminium lever for the original master cylinder, adjustable in its distance to the grip, and Accossato lists it for the Rush 1000 in the 2020 model year.

Key Features

  • Brake lever for the MV Agusta Rush 1000, listed for 2020
  • Replaces the stock lever on the original master cylinder
  • Adjustable distance to the grip
  • Standard blade approx. 138 mm in every colour
  • Short and long blades in selected colours
  • CNC-machined, anodised aluminium; hub in black
  • Fixed blade, no folding mechanism

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato cuts the EDF011 from solid aluminium on CNC equipment, which gives it crisp contours, a uniform section and a pivot bore that lies precisely where it should. Anodising then colours the surface: the hub, right beside the master cylinder, in black, and the blade in one of seven colours. With no folding joint, the lever is one rigid part from hub to tip, which is what belongs between your fingers and a front brake of this calibre.

Steady Pressure Through the Downshifts

Hard braking before a tight corner usually comes with two or three downshifts. Whether you blip the throttle yourself or the bike's electronics match the revs, the gear changes should not disturb the brake. Any wobble in finger pressure goes straight to the front tyre, and the fork rises and dips with it. The skill lies in setting the pressure early, holding it constant while the left foot works through the gearbox, and easing it off progressively as you turn in. That is far easier when the lever sits where the fingers can hold it without strain, rather than at the end of their reach, where every small movement of the hand changes the pressure. Set the EDF011 in the gloves you ride in. Riders who blip with the palm while braking with two fingers often favour the short blade; if you brake with the whole hand, the standard length feels closest to the original lever of the Rush 1000.

Two Brake Levers on Accossato's List

Accossato names two brake levers for this model: the EDF011, listed under Rush 1000 for 2020, and the EDF099, listed as Brutale 1000 Rush for 2019 to 2023. We cannot tell from a distance which one your bike needs. Compare the original lever and master cylinder on your Rush with the product photos of both before ordering, and ask us if the pictures leave you in doubt.

Fitment and Compatibility

The EDF011 is listed by Accossato for the Rush 1000 in the 2020 model year and mounts on the original front brake master cylinder. For the clutch of the 2020 bike, Accossato offers the ESH011. The alternative brake lever, the EDF099, is sold here as a separate product for the Rush 1000 of 2019 to 2023.

Road Approval

The EDF011 comes without a documented German ABE and is therefore sold for track use.
