Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Voge Valico DSX (2021) CM251S

Sprint Filter builds two different elements for this airbox and puts no ranking on them. The 500 cm³ Voge Valico DSX of 2021 appears twice in the catalogue: once as CM251S, the P08 medium in this listing, and once as CM251T12. Choosing between them is not a matter of budget or ambition. It is a question about air. Finer cloth retains more of what passes through it and lets less of it through, and there is no version of that sentence in which one end is simply the better one.

The two numbers that decide it

Set them side by side. The P08 filters at 80 µm and flows 5,050 l/m²/sec; the T12 is a dry special non-woven at 7 µm with 560 l/m²/sec. That is more than an order of magnitude of flow given up for a much tighter structure, and the reason is simply physics — a finer barrier stops more and passes less. For air that is mostly tarmac, with the occasional unsealed track thrown in, the P08 sits at the right end of the exchange. For air that is genuinely thick with dust, day after day, it does not, and the T12 exists for exactly that.

Why P08 is the default here

Because it is the medium Sprint Filter specifies for road and track, and because dry does not mean permissive: their own measurements put the P08 at 93.13 per cent retention of 100-micron particles, where four-layer oiled cotton reached 76.42 per cent. The rest is worth stating without decoration. This element will not make a standard Valico DSX noticeably stronger; a filter panel is one link in a chain that Voge tuned as a whole. What it does is hold the intake restriction low and give you the means to put it back there, with an air line, for as long as you keep the motorcycle.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air through the CM251S from the clean side outwards, and the routine service is over. If the element has met water and dirt together, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse it until nothing more comes out. Then let it dry naturally and completely — no heat source of any kind, and no flame — before it is fitted dry into the box. Nothing is applied to it afterwards.
