DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 660 blanks the RS 660's secondary air port with a plate turned from solid aluminium.
Key Features
- Aprilia RS 660 (2020–2026)
- Blanks the secondary air port in the head
- Machined from solid aluminium
- O-ring sealed, no jointing compound
- Original fastener positions
- Standard housing refits at any time
What Bolts to the Head
A reed housing fed by a hose from the airbox, admitting air whenever pressure in the exhaust port drops. It is the half that actually lets the air in.
Reeds Do Not Last Forever
Heat and repetition eventually split them. Once one goes, exhaust gas travels back up the hose and coats everything between the head and the filter.
Milled From Solid
One piece with an O-ring in a turned groove. There is nothing inside to age and nothing to inspect at a service for the life of the engine.
A Hundred Horsepower, 183 Kilograms
The RS 660 is quick because it is light. On a tight circuit that produces lap times a considerably more powerful machine would not deliver.
A Wind Tunnel Fairing
The double skin moves hot air away from the rider and adds downforce at speed. Aprilia designed it properly rather than styling it.
Before Any Lambda Work
Air entering the exhaust after combustion shifts what a wideband sensor reads, and every fuelling decision taken afterwards inherits the shift.
Original Fasteners
Aprilia's own bolt positions and torque figures. Nothing is drilled and no thread in the head is touched.
Not the Solenoid
The controller watches that circuit independently of what is bolted to the head. It needs the electrical eliminator.
Homologation
The system belongs to the bike's approval and removing it ends road legality in Europe.
Reversible
The standard housing refits with its own fasteners and no new seals.
A One-Make Championship
Aprilia supports dedicated RS 660 series in several countries, which keeps a supply of well-prepared bikes in circulation and means every preparation part for the model is thoroughly proven. Grids of identical machines produce racing decided by riders rather than by budgets.
