DescriptionThe whole story▼

The 690 SMC R is KTM's supermoto with the LC4 single, a light bike that is ridden hard into tight corners. In that riding style the boots come off the pegs and land on them again all the time, and Gilles' Racing pegs give them a ribbed, black step with capped ends that grips again at once.

Key Features

  • Aluminium EN AW-7075 according to the RGK2 test report
  • Racing design with a ribbed, non-slip step surface, as pictured
  • End caps on the peg tips, as pictured
  • Folding joints for the original mounting points
  • Black finish
  • ABE No. KBA 91454 for part of the listed types, see approval

LC4 single

Gilles lists this rider set with the RGK-970 joint for the 690 SMC R of 2012 to 2018 and from 2026; the approval section explains which types the ABE covers.

Road Approval

ABE No. KBA 91454 lists this set's joint kit RGK-970 for the KTM 690 SMC R: there, no inspection and no change to the vehicle documents are required, and the joints carry the approval mark. For type LC4 / B3 (2012 to 2018), the ABE lists the SMC 690 R from 2016 only; check the date of first registration. Type LC4 / B (from 2026) is not in the ABE's vehicle list (as of 9 June 2026). Check field D.2 of your registration document for the type, and carry the printed ABE.

Scope of Delivery

In the box: two Racing rider footpegs, one for each side, on folding joints, and the fitting instructions. Keep the original pegs; they go back on in the same places if you ever want the standard look again.

Fitting

Mount the pegs where the originals were, with the original fixings and following the Gilles instructions. Afterwards, check that the brake pedal and the gear lever still have their full travel and that the pegs fold freely, and re-tighten the screws after the first few kilometres.
