DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato 14x18 is also offered with a folding lever rather than the fixed version, giving the same 14 mm piston and 18 mm pivot distance but with a lever that can hinge rather than snap under impact. That makes it a popular choice for scooters and lighter motorcycles that are parked or dropped in tight spaces, since the folding lever reduces the risk of a broken control if the bike tips over. The relieving eyelet is retained, the body is natural anodised aluminium, and the lever colour is matched by an adjusting knob in the same shade.
Key Features
- 14 mm piston diameter, suggested for scooters and smaller motorcycles
- 18 mm fixed lever pivot distance for track use, also recommended for street riding
- Folding lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
The body of this master cylinder starts as a forged aluminium blank, milled on CNC machinery in Italy and left with a natural anodised surface. Mounting hardware is stainless steel, the bleed valve is zinced steel, and Formula 1 compound is used for the internal seals so they keep working through repeated heat exposure and ongoing fluid contact. An offset riser is cast into the clamp to resist flex under hard braking, while the passage layout inside the unit trims the passive stroke to under half of what a standard radial master cylinder of this size would need. Hoses screw on using the M10x1 thread common to the range.
Choosing a Folding Lever on the 14 mm Master Cylinder
Mechanically, this unit is identical to the fixed-lever 14x18: the same 14 mm piston, suggested for scooters, and the same 18 mm pivot distance, rated for track use and also recommended on the street. The difference is purely in the lever itself. A folding lever is hinged at its base so that an impact, such as the bike tipping over at a standstill, can push it back rather than snap it off, which matters most on scooters and commuter bikes that are regularly parked in close quarters. The relieving eyelet is carried over from the fixed version, and the reach, colour options and adjusting knob all work the same way, so the choice between the two comes down to how the bike is used day to day rather than any change in braking feel.
Fitment and Compatibility
No manufacturer vehicle list exists for this unit; it is sold as a universal 14 mm radial brake master cylinder sized to a 22 mm handlebar clamp. Confirm that measurement on your own bars, make sure the existing brake line and calliper are built around a 14 mm bore, and double-check the disc and calliper combination before placing an order.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
