DescriptionThe whole story▼
Yamaha built the XSR700 XTribute as a version with its own character, listed by Accossato from 2019 to 2024, and it appeals to owners who enjoy working on a machine as much as riding it. Anybody in that position knows the moment when a job is finished and the tools are still out: the point at which it is tempting to put everything away and equally tempting to check the work once more. Accossato's FC124 is the quick-release fuel tank cap listed for the XTribute, machined from aluminium.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha XSR700 XTribute, 2019 to 2024
- Listed by Accossato as a version in its own right
- Aluminium body, machined on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank quickly
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately if it is damaged
- Check the application list before ordering
- No German ABE documented; supplied for the circuit
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato mills this cap from aluminium on CNC equipment, uses nothing else and describes the result as robust and durable, with a design of its own. The working element is the quick-closing pawl, which lets the XTribute's tank be opened with one movement and closed with another. Its pin is the coloured piece, ordered in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold. Because Accossato also catalogues the pawl separately, the part that moves is the part that can be renewed, which is a sensible way round.
The Check After the Job
Work on a motorcycle is not finished when the last tool goes down. It is finished after the check. With the machine cold and standing still, open and close the cap a few times and feel whether the movement is the same every time. Look at how it sits. Fill the tank, wait, and then look again for anything running where it should not. Take the XSR700 XTribute out for a short ride, park it, and go over the same area once more before the day it actually matters. None of this takes long, and it is a great deal better than discovering a problem in a paddock with a session about to start. Work near the tank belongs with a cold engine and an unhurried hour.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the XSR 700 X Tribute from 2019 to 2024, which is the coverage of this product. The standard XSR700 has an entry of its own for the same cap. In our range the FC124 is also filed under the MT-07, the MT-07 Y-AMT and the MT-125. Please compare your machine with the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are on record for this cap, so it is sold for closed courses. For riding on public roads the XTribute keeps its standard cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
