At 200 cm³ this is the largest engine served by the airbox, and it is the one that comes closest to using what the element can deliver. It is also the machine on the list where the question of which medium to buy is worth asking properly, because Sprint Filter catalogues three of them for this case: the standard P08 you are looking at, a finer weave under SM276P14, and a racing polyester listed as SM276S F1-85. They are not a ladder but three settings of the same trade, and only one of them suits road and track use.
Key Features
- The standard medium of the range: dry woven polyester at 80 µm and 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Around twice the filtering surface of other performance elements, all of it reusable
- No oil at any point, so nothing can travel onto the throttle body or the sensors
- Fits the original airbox in place of the paper panel with no modification required
- Retention of 93.13 % on 100-micron particles, compared with 76.42 % for oiled cotton in four layers
- Specified for the lifetime of the machine and covered for two years from purchase
Three media, one airbox
A finer fabric stops more and passes less: that relationship is fixed and it runs in both directions. The P14 catalogued for this case works at 14 µm but flows 1,800 l/m²/sec, roughly a third of what the P08 moves, and it exists for riders whose daily air is genuinely dirty — unsurfaced roads, dry season dust, long distances behind traffic. The F1-85 goes the other way, opening to 85 µm for 15,000 l/m²/sec, and it costs close to three times what the standard element does. Neither is an upgrade. The step from the P08 is sideways in both cases, and it should follow the air the ZT 200 actually breathes.
Why the middle setting is usually the answer
Mixed road use, with track days in it, is exactly the condition the P08 was drawn for, and it is the reason Sprint Filter treats it as the default rather than the entry point. On a road-registered 200 the intake is not the restriction anyway — the inlet tract, the throttle body and the calibration all set their own ceilings well before the panel does, which is why the SM276S needs no remap and delivers no headline figure. What it does deliver is a restriction that can be put back to where it started, on a machine whose engine will happily run far longer than any disposable filter would.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air, directed at the clean face and worked out through the fabric, handles ordinary servicing. When the deposit is greasy rather than dusty, lukewarm water with a mild detergent removes it; rinse until the water is clean and let the element dry in open air at its own speed. Never accelerate that with heat or a flame, and never refit it before it is completely dry or with anything applied to it. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Sprint Filter catalogues this code for the Zontes ZT 200, 2020 to 2026. Six machines share this airbox in total, the smallest of them a 125, and all six take the same code. Check the code and the build year rather than the badge when ordering.
