Which CBR600RR is yours

Three entries stand against this model name in the Sprint Filter list and they are not interchangeable. The 2007–2020 machine carries its own references without market restriction. This 2020–2026 entry, together with the P14 and the P08 F1-85 alongside it, is recorded for the United States only. The CBR600RR sold from 2021 elsewhere runs on the SM262 family instead — SM262S for the standard cloth, with T12, P14 and F1-85 variants of its own. The model name alone therefore decides nothing here. Take the year from the registration document, then the market the machine was delivered to, and the reference follows from those two. Where doubt remains, compare the element in the airbox with the one shown here before ordering.

What the standard cloth is for

The P08 is the fixed point of the range rather than its entry level: the other cloths for this housing are described as departures from it in named directions, finer and slower or coarser and faster. At 80 µm and 5,050 l/m²/sec it is specified for road and circuit use together, which is the life most of these bikes actually lead. It will not make a standard CBR600RR stronger — nothing that fits inside the standard airbox will. It keeps the intake restriction where it started for as long as the bike is kept, and it is inspected and washed instead of bought again.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air on the clean face pushes the load back out through the surface that collected it. When air is not enough, warm water and a mild dish soap will do it; rinse PM465S until the water runs clear. Keep heat away entirely — no hairdryer, no exhaust, no flame — and never refit it damp.
