The lightest exhaust Spark builds for the S1000RR and the loudest: 3.7 kg against the standard 10.5 kg, and 114 dB with the Grid-O silencer that runs on Moto2 and Superbike World Championship grids. It also happens to be the version that keeps your passenger footpegs — a combination that does not obviously go together, and is the main reason people choose it.
Key Features
- 3.7 kg complete — 6.8 kg less than the factory system, the biggest saving in Spark's S1000RR range.
- Titanium collector with the Grid-O silencer, measured by Spark at 114 dB.
- Compatible with passenger footpegs, unlike the Konix Evo and Force Evo versions.
- Grid-O is the muffler Spark supplies to Moto2 and Superbike grids, where no decibel ceiling applies.
- Fits alongside the standard fairings and both factory and aftermarket radiators.
- Covers S1000RR, M1000RR, M1000R and the S1000R.
- Hand-built in Mantova, Italy.
Build Quality & Materials
Titanium from the cylinder heads to the tip. At 3.7 kg the whole assembly weighs less than the standard silencer alone on many bikes, and it gets there by using titanium where it is expensive to use it: the perforated inner tube and the inner end cap, not just the visible sleeve.
The Grid-O leaves its TIG weld seams on show. That is deliberate — on a hand-rolled, hand-welded case the seam is the evidence of the work, and polishing it away would hide the part of the job that took the skill. The mesh end cap is the visual signature and the reason you can pick a Grid-O out of a paddock at fifty metres.
Performance & Sound
114 dB is a lot. It is the top of Spark's range for this bike and it exists for series and countries that impose no noise limit at all. Before ordering, check what your circuit enforces: a number of European tracks will turn a 114 dB machine away at the gate, and no amount of paperwork changes that on the day.
What you get for the noise is the least restricted gas path Spark offers here, on a collector developed through CIV, CEV, British Superbike, the Isle of Man TT and the Endurance World Championship. If the number has to come down, the same collector takes the Force Evo at 104 dB or the Konix Evo at 107 dB.
Installation
Spark's published notes for this system:
- Full system for racing use.
- Compatible with passenger footpegs.
- Compatible with the original fairings.
- Compatible with original and aftermarket radiators.
Fitment & Compatibility
BMW S1000RR (2019-2026) plus the M1000RR, M1000R and S1000R. This is the one system in the range that does not force you to remove the pillion pegs, which makes it the sensible pick for a bike that is a road bike on Sundays and a track bike on Saturdays — noise permitting.
Road Approval
None, and at 114 dB that is not a technicality. No EC certificate, no catalytic converter, and loud enough that fitting it to a road-registered machine would be obvious to anyone within earshot.
