DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every rider wants a mirror. VZ30012P in TE50, SKU VZ30012PTE50TU, is the plain light tinted visor for the Spartan RS and Spartan GT Pro: no reflective coating, just a darker visor with pins fitted for a Pinlock insert, which the supplier sums up as "VISOR A.S with PIN for Pinlock".
Key Features
- Tint code TE50, called "LIGHT TINTED" in Shark's Range Book 2027
- Shark classes it approved day use only (Range Book 2027, page 36)
- Pinlock pins already on the visor; Pinlock 120 insert sold separately as VZ16018P
- Fits the Spartan RS and Spartan GT Pro, from Shark's compatibility page
- Anti-scratch treatment ("A.S" in the supplier line)
- About 180 g, EAN 3664836429298
About this tint
TE50 is the in-between option of the family. It is darker than the clear INC version, but it has no iridium layer, so from outside it looks like a smoked visor rather than a mirror and nobody reads a colour into it. For riders who find a mirror too showy, or who ride in mixed sun and cloud and do not want a mirror's extra glare cut, this is the calmer choice.
Because there is no coating on the outside, small scuffs are less visible than on a mirrored visor, and the surface forgives a slightly less careful wipe.
Road or track
Page 36 of the Range Book 2027 puts TE50 in the approved day use only group. In Shark's terms that means road use in daylight, and not after dark. As soon as light fades or a long tunnel is coming, a tinted visor is the wrong one; the clear sibling VZ30012PINCTU, rated for all users, is the swap for evening and night.
Where this part belongs
Shark's compatible-visor collection on shark-helmets.com is the source: the visor goes on the Spartan RS and the Spartan GT Pro, both in visor family VZ300.
Keeping it serviceable
The pins on the inside hold the Pinlock insert in tension, so handle the visor by its edges and do not lever against them when cleaning. Clean the outer face with water and a soft cloth, soak insects first, and leave solvent cleaners out of it. If you run a Pinlock insert, take it out now and then and dry both surfaces separately.
Scope of delivery
You receive the visor itself, with its Pinlock pins fitted as the supplier line says. The listing does not state whether a Pinlock insert is in the bag, so do not count on one; if you need it, order the Pinlock 120 for Spartan RS / Spartan GT Pro under VZ16018P. Weight of the part is given as roughly 180 g.
Ordering by part number
VZ30012P is the number for this pinned visor; TE50 is the tint code that follows it in the SKU. If your current visor or its original packaging shows a Shark number, compare it before ordering. The clear visor of the same number ends in INC (VZ30012PINCTU), the iridium mirrors of the family run under VZ30046P, and the smoke version is VZ30010P.
