DescriptionThe whole story▼
Everything behind the rider on a race-prepared ZX-10R comes off: the pillion provision, the subframe covers, the lighting, the number plate mount. CK22300 is what goes back on. It is a one-piece carbon tail that replaces the standard rear bodywork with a single moulding, cut for a race foam and shaped to give the rider something to brace against under braking.
Key Features
- Single carbon moulding in place of the standard multi-piece tail assembly
- Prepreg inner skin, vacuum bagged and cured in an autoclave
- Flat mounting face prepared for a Carbonin foam unit, which is ordered separately
- Buffed plane weave finish supplied without clearcoat
- Forms the base of the tail assembly with CK22310, CK22309, CK22311 and CK22312
The Tail Is Structural, Not Trim
On a road bike the tail section carries a light and a mudguard and is otherwise decoration. On a circuit it becomes part of how the rider sits on the machine. The rear edge is what the rider loads against under heavy braking, and the width across the seat determines how far they can move off the bike before losing that support. A moulded race tail is therefore specified the way a set of bars is specified — as an interface, not a panel — and the one-piece construction here exists so there are no joints to work loose at exactly the moment the rider is pushing hardest against them.
What You Also Need
The seat unit is supplied bare. It takes a foam unit, which comes in three levels — BASIC FM2210K, STANDARD FM2250K and PROFESSIONAL FM2260K — and none of them is included here. The bracket IN2201K locates the assembly, CK22310 supports it, and the standard Kawasaki seat cannot be refitted once this tail is on the bike.
Fitment
Fits the Kawasaki ZX-10 R and ZX-10 RR from 2021 through 2026, including the 2026 Gen 7 machine, where it forms the rear of Carbonin's race bodywork.
Road Approval
No approval document is supplied. The unit has no provision for a tail light, indicators or a number plate, so the motorcycle cannot be used on public roads with it fitted.
