DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two kilograms. That is the complete silencer, and it replaces 4.3 kg of standard steel — a saving of over 54 per cent, taken from the highest and furthest-back point of a naked bike that Honda designed to look light in the first place.
Key Features
- 2.0 kg against the standard 4.3 kg: 2.3 kg and over 54 per cent less
- Lightweight titanium body with a handmade carbon fibre end cap and heat shield
- 2.6 PS (1.9 kW) more at 7,650 rpm and 2.6 Nm more at 6,950 rpm
- Peak output rises from 133.8 to 135.0 PS
- Plug-and-play, fully EC and ECE compliant, no remapping
- Fits the CB1000R, the Neo Sports Café and the Black Edition
- No removable noise insert is supplied
The Neo Sports Café Generation
Honda relaunched the CB1000R in 2018 with the Neo Sports Café styling — a single-sided swingarm, a round LED headlight and a deliberately sparse tail. The Black Edition that followed took the same machine in matt black. All of them share the exhaust mounting, and this silencer fits every one.
That generation is also what makes the visual argument work. A bike built around an exposed swingarm and a short tail has nowhere to hide a large standard silencer, and replacing it with a 2 kg titanium unit finishes what the design started.
Handling, Not Just the Scale
The figures were measured on a 2018 CB1000R. 2.3 kg is close to two per cent of a 212 kg motorcycle, and all of it comes from behind and above the rear axle. Akrapovic describes the result as improved handling and manoeuvrability, and on a naked bike that changes direction as readily as this one, the difference is felt rather than calculated.
One Thing to Know
No removable noise insert is supplied. The sound level is what the silencer produces as built — type approved at that level, so entirely legal, but there is no quieter setting to fit.
What Stays Standard
The header, the catalytic converter and the engine management are untouched. No remapping, no additional module, and the original silencer bolts straight back on — which matters on a CB1000R, because these bikes are traded on regularly and a buyer often wants the standard parts in the box.
Installation is around 30 minutes. The single-sided swingarm leaves the mounting unusually accessible, so nothing has to be dismantled to reach it.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-H10SO20-HAPLT covers the Honda CB1000R, the CB1000R Neo Sports Café and the CB1000R Black Edition from model year 2018 through 2024. For the CB1000 Hornet SP from 2025 the corresponding part is S-H10SO30-HILT.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
