DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato makes this Sintered rear pad for the KTM 690 Duke from 2008 to 2019, covering both the early bikes and the later ABS versions. According to Accossato, the Sintered compound keeps a high, constant grip level at high and low temperatures and grips well in the wet. That suits a 690 Duke that is ridden two-up, carries soft luggage on weekend trips or is used through the colder months, when the rear brake needs to feel the same from a frosty start to a warm afternoon.

Key Features

  • Sintered compound for the KTM 690 Duke rear caliper
  • Fits the 690 Duke from 2008 to 2019
  • Accossato: consistent grip across temperatures
  • Good response in rain and spray
  • Steady pedal with a passenger or luggage
  • Two pads per box for the single rear caliper
  • Same rear pad offered as OR and STMX

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato engineers its Sintered rear pad for a friction level that holds steady whether the pad is cold or hot, with good wet performance. The pad is pressed onto a steel carrier made for the 690 Duke rear caliper. Accossato's pads are designed to limit heat and fading, which matters on a rear brake used for long periods on descents.

Two-Up and Loaded

With a passenger on board, more weight moves onto the rear wheel, and the rear brake becomes more useful than on a solo ride. A Sintered pad gives a predictable pedal in that situation, in rain as much as in sunshine. Year-round riders also appreciate it through winter. For dry commuting only, OR is gentler on the disc; STMX is intended for off-road riding.

When You Change Them

Check the rear disc for grooves, clean the piston before pushing it back and top up the fluid. Bed the pads in with several moderate stops.

Fitment and Compatibility

Fits the rear caliper of the KTM 690 Duke from 2008 to 2019, both the DUKE 690 (2008-2011) and DUKE 690 (2012-2019) ABS as listed by Accossato. One box renews the rear. At the front Accossato offers pad AGPA96, which covers the 2012 to 2019 ABS models only.

Road Approval

Test documentation and a German ABE are not on file with us; this rear pad is sold for competition use.

Scope of Delivery
