DescriptionThe whole story▼
Travelling on a Kawasaki KLR 650 means rain, cold mornings, steep passes and heavy luggage over the rear wheel. Accossato's AGPA77 rear pad in Sintered mixture fits the KLR 650 from 2008 to 2024 and is designed for riders who take the bike on long, loaded journeys in every season and want a rear brake that responds the same whatever the conditions.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato states that its Sintered compound delivers a high grip level that stays constant at both low and high temperatures, with good wet grip. For a KLR 650 carrying luggage on a long trip, that steadiness helps the rider judge each use of the rear brake, whether in cold mountain air or on a wet descent. The company also claims low wear, reduced fading through controlled heat build-up and high stopping force. The mixture is bonded to the AGPA77 plate.
Loaded Descents
With panniers and a top box, a KLR 650 carries a lot of weight over the rear wheel, and the rear brake becomes more effective and more important. On wet, winding descents, riders use it to control speed smoothly before each bend. A pad with steady grip in rain makes those descents calmer.
Before setting off, fit fresh pads if the old ones are worn, check the disc and fluid and carry a spare set. After rainy or muddy days, rinse the rear caliper and check that the pads move freely.
Riders heading far from home often plan their pad stock around the route: a fresh Sintered set fitted before departure, a spare in the pannier, and a note of where dealers can be found along the way. On remote stretches, a roadside pad swap on the KLR 650 is a simple job with basic tools, as long as the caliper has been cleaned first and the pedal is pumped back up afterwards.
Luggage also changes the balance of the bike under braking. Practise a few firm stops on an empty road at the start of the trip to learn how the loaded KLR 650 reacts before the first mountain descent.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA77 is catalogued by Accossato for the rear brake of the Kawasaki KLR 650 from 2008 to 2024, with AGPA76 for the front. One box equips the single rear caliper.
Road Approval
AGPA77ST has no ABE or German approval mark in our records. It is offered for racing and competition.
