DescriptionThe whole story▼
Autumn is hard on clutch levers. Wet leaves gather at the edges of junctions, and when a Dorsoduro 750 rider stops, it is usually the left foot that goes down, often straight onto them. If it slides, the tall supermoto-style twin tips over to the left, and the clutch lever is frequently what meets the tarmac. Aprilia sold the Dorsoduro 750 from 2008 to 2016, and plenty have had a moment like that. For them, Accossato makes the AGS16, a clutch lever in original shape, finished in silver.
Key Features
- Clutch lever in the original shape for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, 2008 to 2016
- Covers the models with and without ABS
- Silver finish, as Accossato specifies for this bike
- Mounted on the left handlebar, operates the clutch
- Higher resistance after damage or a crash, according to Accossato's description of its process
- Designed as a cost-effective replacement
- One lever included
- Sold for racing use; no German ABE on record
Construction and Material Quality
The AGS16 belongs to the levers Accossato groups as original spare parts type. Its outline follows the one Aprilia put on the Dorsoduro 750, so the fingers land on the blade where they always did, and nothing changes in the view from the saddle. Accossato designed these levers to be sensibly priced. It credits its manufacturing process with giving them extra resistance once they have been through a fall or other damage, and supplies this one in silver.
Leaves, a Stall and a Slow Topple
Drops of this kind follow a pattern. The rider brakes for the junction, the engine stalls or the boot finds nothing solid, and a bike with a tall seat goes over before there is time to catch it. The damage is usually modest: a scuffed bar end, a mark on a side panel, a clutch lever bent or snapped near the tip. Before riding on, pull the lever and release it a few times. If it catches, feels gritty or does not spring back, the clutch can no longer be controlled properly and the ride should end there. At home, clean the pivot bolt and its bore before the new lever goes in, add a trace of grease and set the free play as the Dorsoduro 750 handbook describes. Then confirm that the clutch switch still responds, as on most modern bikes it is part of the starting circuit.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGS16 is listed by Accossato for the Dorsoduro 750 from 2008 to 2016, both as a standard model and with ABS. Its partner on the right is the AGD13 brake lever, likewise silver and in original shape, so check which side needs replacing before you order. The same clutch lever appears at Inter-Pace under the Shiver 750 and the Shiver 750 GT. If you would like a CNC clutch lever instead, Accossato offers the ESC023 for the Dorsoduro 750.
Road Approval
No German ABE or comparable test report is available to us for the AGS16, and so we offer it for racing and competition.
