DescriptionThe whole story▼

After days of liaisons and timed tests, the International Six Days Enduro traditionally ends with a motocross race, and riders line up for it on the machines they have nursed through the whole week. The KTM 125 EXC Six Days is named after that event. By the time the final race starts, its clutch lever has been pulled thousands of times, and it has one more job to do: a clean launch. Accossato's C7284, milled in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, is the folding clutch lever made for this bike from 2009 to 2016.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the KTM 125 EXC Six Days, 2009 to 2016
  • Listed for both version groups, 2009–2013 and 2014–2016
  • Fits the original clutch control on the left of the bar
  • Longer blade for four fingers
  • Anti-break design: the blade can fold forward instead of breaking
  • Machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
  • Black, blue or orange blade, dark base
  • No German ABE documented; for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Each C7284 is cut from a solid block of Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and the machining takes place in Italy. Strength, low weight and reliability are the properties Accossato is after. The lever comes in two parts: a dark base on the pivot of the clutch mount and a hinged blade in black, blue or orange. As a clutch lever it is the longer of Accossato's two designs, with space for four fingers, so the pull can be spread across the whole hand when the forearm tires.

One Last Start

A start on a small two-stroke is a matter of revs and clutch. Hold the engine high, where the 125 makes its power, and release the lever progressively so the rear tyre drives rather than spins. Let it out too fast and the front lifts or the engine bogs; too slowly and the field is gone. In a final race after five days of riding, with tired forearms and a hand that has worked the clutch through every test, that fine control is harder than it sounds.

The first corner of any motocross brings bikes together, and at the Six Days the field includes riders far more used to forest tests than to elbows at the turn. A touch of bars, a fall in the pack, and a left lever meets the ground or another machine. A folding blade gives the lever a better chance of coming through such a moment. Accossato, which won an enduro world championship title in 1985, builds that joint into the C7284 so that a single fall need not end the race, and with it the week, for a 125 EXC Six Days.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato names two version groups of the KTM 125 EXC Six Days, 2009 to 2013 and 2014 to 2016, and the C7284 fits both at the original clutch control. For the right side, the B8283 folding brake lever is available for the 2014 to 2016 bikes only, in the same three colours. On an earlier 125 EXC Six Days, a folding lever can therefore be fitted on the clutch side alone.

Road Approval

The C7284 is not covered by a German ABE. On a 125 EXC Six Days used on public roads it is not approved; the lever is made for off-road riding and competition.
